HTTP 200 with "valid": true means the payload is structurally acceptable. It does not create a decision or initiate a payment.

Without an MPP credential, the response is HTTP 402 with a WWW-Authenticate: Payment challenge. An MPP-capable client evaluates and satisfies that challenge before retrying the same request. Current public payments are Stripe test mode.
